Variable in-line optical attenuators,also know as adjustable in-line optical attenuator or short as VOA, are used to permit dynamic control of optical power levels in a fiber. It can be applied to adjust power level of signal in the optical communication at the output of light sources, E/O converters and for the linear or dynamic range of power meter. The 250μm fibers are positioned in a high modulus plastic loose tube.The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound,wrapped with a layer of PSP longitudinally. Between the PSP and the loose tube water-blocking material is applied to keep the cable compact and watertight. Two parallel steel wires are placed at the two sides of the steel tape. The outer sheath can be PE or custom.
